Nike ACG Valenka | Blazer

As Nike ACG comfortably establishes its place in the outdoor market, a recent interview with designer Andrea Corradini sheds some light on the design philosophy and direction of Nike ACG. In the process two shoes became the focus of the talk as it featured the womens Nike ACG Valenka boot as well as the Nike ACG Blazer. The ACG Blazer takes its obvious inspirations from the hardwood classic Blazer with revamped technology and styles to make the transition beyond the pounding of regular pavement and onto the unbeaten path. The Valenka boot looks to traditional Russian winter boots as it combines the concept with the production process’ of Nike’s eco-friendly Considered initiative. The use of solvent-free construction made way for special webbings that doesn’t hamper the performance benefits of the shoe as well, the designers also found a way to incorporate a completely waterproof inner-bootie. Also a topic of discussion was the inclusion of well-known American wool-makers Pendleton as they contributed to both the footwear and apparel side of things.
